Kiss....

For a kiss to be really good, you want it to mean something. You want it to be with someone you can't get out of your head, so that when your lips finally touch you feel it everywhere. A kiss so hot and so deep you never want to come up for air. You can't cheat your first kiss. Trust me, you don't want to. Cause when you find that right person for a first kiss, it's everything.

Drew Barrymore does W

Three years ago, when Drew Barrymore turned 31, she decided that it was time to test herself. She had made a string of romantic comedies and launched a successful production company whose seven films had generated nearly $900 million in global ticket sales. But Barrymore felt she had grown a little too comfortable for someone “who likes to be out on a limb,” she says. “I thought, Where’s the fear?”

Moss Have Collection

AFTER nine seasons working together Kate Moss and Topshop have hit upon a winning fashion recipe. Take a large dollop of skinny jeans and flirty dresses, add some leather and suede for rock-chic bite, sprinkle on some Gallic striped knitwear and bake in the summer sun. This season though, the recipe has a few extra ingredients.

"I love wearing prints, particularly in summer and they've proved a real hit in my past collections," Moss explained. "Whilst researching the spring range we looked at loads of old prints and most of my favourites originated from the Liberty archive."

As VOGUE.COM reported in December, such was the supermodel's love for the iconic London department store's prints, her Topshop range for spring/summer borrowed from three classic designs. Kate Nouveau, Poppy and Lilabell - named after Kate's daughter Lila - are set to feature on dresses and camisoles in cotton and chiffon.

"Collaborating with the print studio was an amazing experience," Moss revealed. "The team are so knowledgeable and were very open to my ideas. The capsule range features original colour combinations exclusive to my spring collection."

The spring/summer 2009 offering will also feature Moss' first underwear outing with bras and pants in black lace and cotton florals.

Brad Pitt Does Oprah

Brad Pitt, and his little mustache too, did an interview with Oprah Winfrey that is scheduled to air today, Monday 30 March 2009.

He was there to promote his new movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but the topic was mostly on Angelina Jolie and their six children - Maddox, Pax Thien, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. Pitt says it takes a half hour to get all six kids into the car:
"Angie’s militant about it. She’s right on top of it. Thank God, because I’m always forgetting something.”
Brad told Oprah that fatherhood has made him “hard as nails.” When asked how being a dad has changed him he replied:
“I’m impervious to poo, snot, urine, vomit. You can’t get me. You cannot break me down.”
He added that Shiloh is “in this thing” where she only wants to be called John. “it’s a Peter Pan thing.”

The Vanity Fair Spotlights: Women

Captured by some of the best photographers and dressed by master stylists, the women in Vanity Fair’s Spotlight series—models, actresses, performers—are free to let their inner selves shine. And lucky us if—as in the case of Gisele—that involves straddling a white horse completely naked. VF.com collects a decade’s worth of drop-dead gorgeous portraits.

African Queens

From Marc Jacobs to Louis Vuitton to Gucci, this summer’s fashion is writhing with exotic flora and fauna. Michael Roberts diagnoses the outbreak of zebra, python, and leopard, along with feathers, fringes, and bangles, as a full-blown case of Afrophilia

… And God Created Gisele

How does the world’s most successful supermodel—darling of the cameras, advertisers, and tabloids, and worth an estimated $150 million—make her life even more fabulous? By marrying star quarterback Tom Brady, then setting her sights on a higher consciousness. As Gisele Bündchen embarks on her next chapter, the exuberant 28-year-old beauty tells about her secret engagement, the shock of finding out Brady’s ex-girlfriend was pregnant with his baby, and how they’re working out the bi-coastal routine of a new family.

Formula 1 2009

Few Formula One seasons have been quite so keenly anticipated as this one. Major changes to the regulations, aimed at enhancing the show by promoting more overtaking opportunities while at the same time reducing costs, have given everyone a dramatic new set of challenges.

The most significant changes relate to aerodynamics, with smaller rear wings and wider front wings which, for the first time since 1969, may be adjusted by the driver, twice per lap. This is a direct result of intensive research done last year by Formula One’s Overtaking Working Group’s into ways of generating passing opportunities.

Thus the scene is set for another gripping season in which so much will remain unpredictable until the first few races have been run. And which will welcome yet another exciting new venue when the finale is held at the bespoke Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, on November 1. Who will be crowned world champion by then is anyone’s guess..

Denial

Sometimes reality has a way of sneaking up and biting us in the ass.
And when the dam bursts, all you can do is swim.
The world of pretend is a cage, not a cocoon.
We can only lie to ourselves for so long.
We are tired, we are scared, denying it doesn't change the truth.
Sooner or later we have to put aside our denial and face the world.
Head on, guns blazing.
De Nile.
It's not just a river in Egypt, it's a freakin' ocean.
So how do you keep from drowning in it?

Secrets

The thing people forget is how good it can feel when you finally set secrets free. Whether good or bad, at least they're out in the open.
And once your secrets are out in the open, you don't have to hide behind them anymore. The problem with secrets is even when you think you're in control, you're not.

Drawing the line..

At some point, you have to make a decision.
Boundaries don't keep other people out.
They fence you in.
Life is messy.
That's how we're made.
So, you can waste your lives drawing lines.
Or you can live your life crossing them.
But there are some lines... that are way too dangerous to cross.

Being close....

At the end of the day, when it comes down to it, all we really want is to be close to somebody.
So this thing, where we all keep our distance and pretend not to care about each other, is usually a load of bull.
So we pick and choose who we want to remain close to, and once we've chosen those people, we tend to stick close by.
No matter how much we hurt them, the people that are still with you at the end of the day - those are the ones worth keeping.
And sure, sometimes close can be too close.
But sometimes, that invasion of personal space, it can be exactly what you need.

Happiness...

Maybe we're not supposed to be happy.
Maybe gratitude has nothing to do with joy.
Maybe being grateful means recognizing what you have for what it is.
Appreciating small victories.
Admiring the struggle it takes simply to be human.
Maybe we're thankful for the familiar things we know.
And maybe we're thankful for the things we'll never know.
At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing is reason enough to celebrate.

....a glass half full...

There's something to be said about a glass half full.
About knowing when to say when. I think it's a floating line.
A barometer of need and desire.
It's entirely up to the individual.
And depends on what's being poured.
Sometimes all we want is a taste.
Other times there's no such thing as enough, the glass is bottomless.
And all we want, is more.

Pain

Pain, you just have to ride it out, hope it goes away on its own, hope the wound that caused it heals.
There are no solutions, no easy answers, you just breath deep and wait for it to subside.
Most of the time pain can be managed but sometimes the pain gets you where you least expect it.
Hits way below the belt and doesn't let up.
Pain, you just have to fight through, because the truth is you can't outrun it and life always makes more.

Growing up

I've heard that it's possible to grow up - I've just never met anyone who's actually done it.
Without parents to defy, we break the rules we make for ourselves.
We throw tantrums when things don't go our way, we whisper secrets with our best friends in the dark, we look for comfort where we can find it, and we hope - against all logic, against all experience. L
ike children, we never give up hope...

Rules of Intimacy

I wish there were a rulebook for intimacy.
Some kind of guide to tell you when you've crossed the line.
It would be nice if you could see it coming, and I don't know how you fit it on a map. You take it where you can get it, and keep it as long as you can.
And as for rules, maybe there are none. Maybe the rules of intimacy are something you have to define for yourself.

Fear of Failure

A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying.

The Fairytale of FAITH

You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up, one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is its hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely cause almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true.
At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it's not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away.

Julia Roberts - Allure Magazine

Julia Roberts's name is so synonymous with "movie star," it's hard to believe it's been forever since her last big starring role. Now she's back with two movies—Duplicity with costar Clive Owen and Fireflies in the Garden—and ready to talk about her life and loves. For more photos from her shoot with Michael Thompson in Malibu and the story "Domestic Goddess," pick up the March issue of Allure

Waarheid en Leuen

die aarde
draai regtig as iemand 'n leuen maak van jou wereld

nie dadelik nie
maar met tyd

soos 'n inkdruppel water kleur
sak dit in met tyd.

... en jou waarheid word 'n leuen

jou hart word 'n steen
jou oë leeg
oor een daad gepleeg

jou kop word lig
en swart word jou sig

die mes word uit jou hart gewikkel
asemhaling word 'n gesukkel
... en so besef jy weer

alles maak net seer

en die aarde
draai regtig as iemand 'n leuen maak van jou waarheid

Beteken

BETEKEN - WASSERFALL

Moet nooit jouself vergeet.
