Deurmekaar

Ek kom op liedjie af in die middel van Desember vakansie 2008.
My kop raas, alles skommel asof ek besig is om 'n milkshake te maak van gedagtes so kaal..
Ek dink..........ek is deurmekaar.... ek wil jou voel........ek wil by jou wees.
Ons praat dieselfde taal, ek ken jou naam voor hulle dit kon skreeu van die dakke af.
Jou siel, ek sien dit voor my, ek wil dit aanraak.........ek is deurmekaar...

Ek het geloop sonder om te groet
Ek wil jou bel ek wonder of ek moet
Ek weet jy dink ekt jou verniel
Ek het jou lief met my hart en siel

Ek het geloop sonder om te groet
En clean breaks is tien teen een goed
En ek sit hier op die lang pad
Soos soveel kere vantevoor
En iewers langs die highway het ek my beste pel verloor

Ek ken jou lyf
Ek ken jou taal
Ek ken jou goed
Ek ken jou kaal
Ons het opgestaan
Ons het weer geval
Die herinneringe maak my mal
Die fights verby
Die vuurs geblus
Die storm het bedaar
Als is fine
Ek voel so deurmekaar

Ek het geloop sonder om te groet
Jys nog altyd een wat net praat wanneer hy moet
As ek kon sing en minder se
Sal jy ook beter weet wat ek nodig het.

Jy wonder of hulle jou sal ken so ek destyds.....
die eerste keer toe ek my kry, toe stap jy woordeloos deur my verby......van die dag toe jy daar staan......in die middel van die kamer...........jy het my toe al gehad........by HELLO.
Die herinneringe.....dit maak my mal!
Ek vra jou, bly by my.........

Say - John Mayer

Poem on Christmas Day

She looks at the world
through eyes of kindness
Her hair glistens with the brilliant glow of stars
Her face reflecting certainty and expectation
Faith and hope turns always to the light.

And her lips touch our souls with kisses
too sweet to remember without tears of joy
She stands cloaked in warmth and tenderness
and mystery
She is love, precious love
to the fortunate she comes once,
but never again
so guard her with every strength in you
never let her go

Secret Garden - Bruce Springsteen

She'll let you in her house
If you come knockin' late at night
She'll let you in her mouth
If the words you say are right
If you pay the price
She'll let you deep inside
There's a secret garden she hides

She'll let you in her car
To go drivin' 'round
She'll let you into the parts of herself
That'll bring you down
She'll let you in her heart
If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don't think twice

You've gone a million miles
How far'd you get
To that place where you can't remember
And you can't forget

She'll lead you down a path
There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough
So you know she's really there
And she'll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay a million miles away

You had me at "hello"

Britney Spear's Holiday Wishes

Britney Spears gives fans a holiday message video saying: “I want to wish everybody out there a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And I want to thank all of my fans for making my album, Circus, No. 1.” Britney Spears’ video was posted on her official website on Tuesday.

Jennifer Aniston - GQ January 2009

Jennifer Aniston is pulling out all the tricks while promoting Marley & Me and not holding back has never looked so good. As one of the most fit celebs of '08, Aniston shows off her body as a wonderland as well as some pretty hilarious quotes about you know who in the January issue of GQ. Here's more:

On Mayer: "I am not having his baby. And I have not popped the question.... Honestly, did not know much about him before I met him. I'd heard ... you know, uh 'Your Body' – that song. But what I can say is that I had no idea what an extraordinary musician he is. And it's just great to sit and be witness to that. It's kind of like, Whoa!"

On Angelina's falling in love comment: "Well, you know, that was definitely a confirmation for me of something that wasn't quite confirmed at the time. But listen... You sit there and you... No. No daggers through the heart. I laugh. Am I surprised? Well, how do I say this?... Considering the source, nothing surprises me."

It's all your fault - Pink

I conjure up the thought of being gone
But I'd probably even do that wrong
I try to think about which way
Would I be able to and would I be afraid

Cause oh I'm bleeding out inside
Oh I don't even mind (Yeah)

It's all your fault
You called me beautiful
You turned me out
And now I can't turn back
I hold my breath
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air
And it's not fair

Da da dada da dada da
Da dadadadadada da dadadadadada

I'm trying to figure out what else to say (What else could I say)
To make you turn around and come back this way (Would you just come back this way)
I feel like we could be really awesome together
So make up your mind cause it's now or never (Oh)
It's all your fault
You called me beautiful
You turned me out
And now I can't turn back
I hold my breath
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air
And it's not fair

I would never pull the trigger
But I've cried wolf a thousand times
I wish you could
Feel as bad as I do
I have lost my mind

It's all your fault
You called me beautiful
You turned me out
And now I can't turn back
I hold (I hold) my breath (My breath)
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air (Running out of air)
And it's not fair

(Oh yeah
It's all your fault)

I hold my breath
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air
And it's not (It's not) fair

Fall for you

Maybe

Maybe. . we were supposed to meet the
wrong people before meeting the right
one so that, when we finally meet the
right person, we will know how to be
grateful for that gift.

Maybe . . . when the door of happiness
closes, another opens; but, often
times, we look so long at the closed
door that we don't even see the new
one which has been opened for us.

Maybe .. . . it is true that we don't
know what we have until we lose it,
but it is also true that we don't know
what we have been missing until it
arrives.

Maybe . . . the happiest of people
don't necessarily have the best of
everything; they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way.

Maybe . . . the brightest future will
always be based on a forgotten past;
after all, you can't go on
successfully in life until you let go
of your past mistakes, failures and
heartaches.

Maybe . . . you should dream what you
want to dream; go where you want to
go, be what you want to be, because
you have only one life and one chance
to do all the things you dream of, and
want to do.

Maybe . . . there are moments in life
when you miss someone -- a parent, a
spouse, a friend, a child -- so much
that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real, so
that once they are around you
appreciate them more.

Maybe . . . the best kind of friend is
the kind you can sit on a porch and
swing with, never say a word, and then
walk away feeling like it was the best
conversation you've ever had.

Maybe . . you should always try to put
yourself in others' shoes. If you feel
that something could hurt you, it
probably will hurt the other person,
too.

Maybe . . you should do something nice
for someone every single day, even if
it is simply to leave them alone.

Maybe giving someone all your love
is never an assurance that they will
love you back. Don't expect love in
return; just wait for it to grow in
their heart; but, if it doesn't, be
content that it grew in yours.

Maybe . . . happiness waits for all
those who cry, all those who hurt, all
those who have searched, and all those
who have tried, for only they can
appreciate the importance of ll the
people who have touched their lves.

Maybe . . . you shouldn't go for
looks; they can deceive; don't go for
wealth; even that fades away. Go for
someone who makes you smile, because
it takes only a smile to make a dark
day seem bright. Find the one that
makes your heart smile.

Maybe . . you should hope for enough
happiness to make you sweet, enough
trials to make you strong, enough
sorrow to keep you human, and enough
hope to make you happy

Maybe . . . you should try to live
your life to the fullest because when
you were born, you were crying and
everyone around you was smiling but
when you die, you can be the one who
is smiling and everyone around you
crying..

Running with wild horses

Referring to one of my favorite songs - Wild Horses by Natasha Bedingfield.
I want to be able to love freely and recklessly and be myself, both without holding back or worrying about the consequences, in the same way that wild horses run free and recklessly, never worrying about where they'll end up or what they're leaving behind.
I want to feel free and confident in my life and with love...

Soulmates - by Madonna

There's no such thing as the perfect soulmate. If you meet someone and you think they perfect, you better run as fast as you can in the other direction cause your soul mate is the person that pushes all your buttons, pisses you off on a regular basis and makes you face your shit. It's not easy having a good marriage, but you don't want easy. Easy doesn't make you grow. Easy doesn't make you think.

Favorite Nip/Tuck Moment - Great Advise!

"Never give a girl your number.
Always take hers. Keeps you in control.
And no American cars. German, Italian...
or the occasional English.
Treat yourself to a barber-shop shave once a month.
Take a beautiful girl to Florence and eat at Enoteca.
Talk to Marino. He'll take care of you.
Tell him you're my son.
Don't take any crap off anyone.
You're better than that.
Try to be good to people.
Never get too jaded to care.
Remember me."

My Favorite TV Show - Nip/Tuck

If you haven't seen Nip/Tuck ever before, I would strongly suggest starting from the first season. It's an unequaled masterpiece which sadly even the writers of said show themselves haven't been able to duplicate and these were no ordinary two-cent hacks but the geniuses...genii(?)...very smart people who came up with the idea of coke mules smuggling their stash in breast implants.

Nip/Tuck Season 3 now every night on SABC 3 after the 10pm news

I Dream of You

I am up awake tonight
Wondering what you are up to.
Are you awake too?
Or are you sleeping tight?

If you are asleep
What do you dream off?
I know I dream of you ….
Even when I am awake.

You are in my mind
Never go away
Let me have you near
And dream about you night and day.

Sometimes I wish
I could make everyone disappear
Leave you and me alone.
So I can look into your lovely eyes
Forever day and night

Everyone seems to get what thy want
And I often wonder
Where’s mine?

Emotions

Frustration held under
the bubbling
coming up slow and
molten
a gentle fire
licks the cauldron
of the mind
carefully sticks of memory
stir and stir
stir and stir
what lies suspended
within
the dense emotion
gradually heated
working towards a point
beyond which
only a boiling overflow
is next.

Needing Places

I need loneliness

like an empty table

stationed in a dusty room,

No need to pull out a chair.

Michelle - My friend with wings

Like a smile on a string
you pull me near
with sweet reflection
and wonderous delight
making me feel seen
and heard
and understood
with friends like these
who needs angels?
or perhaps the better question is
how do they not know
that they are sporting wings?

Summer Poem

the sky’s milk white
my hands around my coffee cup
–my little hands and dirty nails,
the days are longer
and I not quite as strong
as when ice glazed my world.
I count the days in pairs of pantyhose
and I still cross the streets with care
you see, for me it’s still May.

but darling,
there is no consolation,
only ashes from my cigarette,
the stars look burned
the amethyst sunset’s nothing for me.
the world a lonely carousel,
again I’m unprepared.
all I want is stronger flesh,
instead I have a series of
serrations against the wall of myself
and what I feel
unraveling

Victoria Beckham - Allure Magazine

Victoria Beckham

Allure December Issue - Scarlet

At her cover shoot with Tom Munro in New York City, Scarlett Johansson steamed up the set.
But Allure cleverly managed to keep her from overheating under the studio lights—by dressing her in lingerie.

"I always wanted to get married and have kids. I just never had any preconceived idea about what that would be like," says Johansson, who married actor Ryan Reynolds, 32, this past September. "Some girls have envisioned their whole wedding forever. My life seems to be happening naturally." But Johnansson is cooler when asked how she and Reynolds met. "Nobody knows. It's private. It's our story," says the actress.

This Little Piggy Went to Prada

A collection of twenty-one irreverent nursery rhymes, This Little Piggy went to Prada is a delight.

Written by Amy Allen who says that she was inspired to write the book because of her innate inability to “relate to pease pudding and attempts at talking fashion with a gurgling newborn.”

All I know is all I want is one of these:
“I had a little shoe tree nothing would it bear but
Manolo Blahniks and Vintage Tattinger.”

Rumours / Gossip

I read this interesting story about Gossip the other day:

A woman repeated a bit of gossip about a neighbor.

Within a few days the whole community knew the story. The person it concerned was deeply hurt and offended. Later the woman responsible for spreading the rumor learned that it was completely untrue. She was very sorry and went to a wise old sage to find out what she could do to repair the damage.

"Go to the marketplace," he said, "and purchase a chicken, and have it killed. Then on your way home, pluck its feathers and drop them one by one along the road." Although surprised by this advice, the woman did what she was told.

The next day the wise man said, "Now go and collect all those feathers you dropped yesterday and bring them back to me."

The woman followed the same road, but to her dismay, the wind had blown the feathers all away. After searching for hours, she returned with only three in her hand. "You see," said the old sage, "it's easy to drop them, but it's impossible to get them back. So it is with gossip. It doesn't take much to spread a rumor, but once you do, you can never completely undo the wrong."

So what is gossip and why are we so willing to participate in it?

It is a sad truth that people cannot love you for just you, that they are easily persuaded to believe anything, & enjoy participating in the story line of a good bit of gossip.

I think it is a matter of self love actually.

If you don't love yourself, how is it possible to love another human being for who they are?

So anything that people do affects you and threatens you.

There is a saying: "People talk about you and bring you down because they cannot be at the level you are, so they need to bring you down to their level"

I sit here saddened as I think of times when I have been shamed before the ones I love & those who are suppose to know my heart.

Yes, I have cried in secret & died inside to a level of joy & trust I once felt.

If I could change one thing in this world, it would be this...

It is true that some things are better left unsaid.

That you really do need to walk a mile in another mans shoes & that if you haven't got anything nice to say...don't say anything at all.

Spesial vir my pa op sy verjaarsdag

Op 21 November 2008 word my stiefpa 60 jaar oud.
Hy was nog altyd meer 'n pa vir my as my regte pa en baie naby aan my hart.

Die volgende is op hom opgedra:

Toe ek 'n klein dogtertjie was
Het ek geglo in kerse en gras
Feetjies en dwergies wat lag
Aan groen en oranje se vlag

Tog weet ek, ek is nie meer ses
Ek het nou weer groot geword
Agt en twintig op my lewens bord

Ek ken julle in my gebede
Dis waar ek myself kan vind in vrede
Grys het oor Pa se donker hare gekom
Selfs ek het 'n plooi wat my verstom

Maar tog weet ek wat sou ek ooit kon wees
As ek nie Pa gehad het was ek in vrees
Pa is altyd lief vir my
En daarteen sal ek nooit kan stry

Pa en Ma my lewens wysheid het julle my geleer

My held so veraltyd beslis

Baie geluk met Pa se 60ste verjaarsdag!
Geniet die dag baie

Al my liefde
Lorinda

Men are from Mars....

My mom said the only reason men are alive is for lawn care and vehicle maintenance.

Marrying a man is like buying something you've been admiring for a long time in a shop window. You may love it when you get it home, but it doesn't always go with everything in the house.

Don't let a man put anything over on you except an umbrella.

Whether women are better than men I cannot say—but I can say they are certainly no worse.

A guy is a lump like a doughnut. So, first you gotta get rid of all the stuff his mom did to him. And then you gotta get rid of all that macho crap that they pick up from beer commercials. And then there's my personal favorite, the male ego.

You shouldn't be anyone special to me, Your just another guy. you shouldn't lead me on especially if it's a lie, one day it's love the next day it's done, you hurt me to much to be the one

Why did God create men? Because vibrators can't mow the lawn.

Just who will i be?

It just feels like the other day when i was thinking: "What do i want to be when i grow up?" because all my friends seemed sure about their futures. They wanted to be doctors, lawyers, teachers, politicians. Me, I didn’t have a clue.

I hated breaking it to myself, but i am already grown up.
This year it is exactly 10 years since i have matriculated - time certainly passed by quicker than i every could imagine!
My dreams are certainly not over yet, in fact, I just realized that I am still a work in progress and I am writing my next act now.

The past couple of weeks I had to think all over again: “What do I want to be when I am all grown up”

It wasn’t just “WHAT do I want to be when I’m grow up?” It was, “WHO will I be? WHO is the person I want to be? Who is the ME I’ll become? Who am I?”

I have realized that past year or so I have been defined by the work I am doing instead of the life I am living.
I have given 200% of my time to my work and in the process at times stopped living my dream, but who can blame me?
I have been given the opportunity to work for one of the most powerful brands in the world, but I have to ask myself the question – did the brand become too powerful for me?
With a combination of self-deprecation and chutzpah, I can describe myself as the consummate overachiever, a people-pleasing, legacy-carrying, perfection-seeking girl.

A couple of weeks I stood at a function and it suddenly became clear – I am being incarnated as someone I am totally not!
Standing still, I suddenly found the room spinning around me. I was awakened by fake smiles, flashing cameras and reality… this is not the life I intend to live!
I started asking who I am and who are my true friends?

You know, the say: “ Your are the same today than you will be in 5 years from now except for the people with whom you associate with and the books I read.”
I have been associated with many people throughout my life, but only a handful I can call my true friends.
It might seem that all I do is work, attend events, meet fabulous people and live the life, but I am so much more than that.
I wonder how many people know that I love simple things in life – like children, a home cooked meal from my mom, afternoon naps, experiencing new things, ice cream, reading, staying in my PJ’s the whole day in bed, listening, rains, the wonder of spring, crying, laugh until my belly hurts and just being normal – living a no fuzzed life?

I wonder how many people know that my greatest pleasure in life is to be around family and friends and that my biggest dream is to be a mom?

I wonder how many of us invest time in other people? Do you?
Did you know, the best thing you can do for anyone else is improve yourself: what I mean by this is simply this: if you improve yourself and make yourself a better person this will allow you to bring other people up with you and in return make them a better person?

There are most definitely more important things in life to worry about than what to wear next, who to impress best and what has been written about you in the stars.
Tonight I will be worrying about someone very important in my life; tonight I will be saying a prayer for my mom because tomorrow she might stand a chance in facing another big operation.
After my prayers I will be counting my blessings. I will not look at what is not, but at what is and be thankful for all that I have.
I have to ask myself again, who is this person I want to become and how to I want to enrich the lives of others around me?

I want to chase my dream and I want to make my dreams come true – that is the pursuit of happiness

RYK NEETHLING - Chasing the Dream

The story of Ryk Neethling is much more than the story of a triumphant sportsman. It is the story of a fiercely determined swimmer from Bloemfontein who overcame great odds – a near-drowning, social awkwardness and family tragedy – to become an Olympic champion. In this autobiography, Ryk tells of his travels to the US to pursue his Olympic dream; the experience of winning gold in Athens in 2004; the murky world of steroids in sport; his ongoing battle with the sport’s administrators; his struggles with his Afrikaner identity; and his rejection of a multimillion-dollar offer to swim for another country. The title will take the story up to the end of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, in which Ryk will become the only South African to compete in four successive Olympic Games.

Brad Pitt's Private Photos of Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is on the cover of W Magazine and causing a bit of a stir. A candid photo, taken by walking sperm bank Brad Pitt, features Jolie breastfeeding one of her twins. Are you really surprised Angie is trumping the naked and pregnant celebrity mag covers? We are lucky Matthew McConaughey didn’t give it a whirl.

Inside the issue are the rest of the family photos which feature Angelina, Maddox and the twins. Shiloh was even let out of the cellar for a few photos. For more of the candid photos including Jolie pissed about eating a sandwich, check out W Magazine.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie....look at this!

Katie Holmes looks amazing

Dressed in a white tunic ensemble with black embroidery, which takes it inspiration from French clown Pierrot, Katie looks stunning and has clearly matured into a role as a Hollywood style icon.

And on the cover of fashion magazine In Style, the wife of Tom Cruise, and mother of 23-month-old Suri is seen in typically glamorous mode

Look who has grown up!

I always figured that Dakota Fanning would grow up to be a beautiful young lady, but who knew she'd be so fashionable?
Dakota showed up to the premiere of her newest movie, The Secret Life of Bees, wearing an adorable black strapless dress paired with purple t-strap heels.
One can never go wrong with a little black dress, and Dakota's manages to be both age appropriate and fashionably forward.
As fabulous as I think Dakota's dress is though, I think her shoes are my favorite part of the outfit.
The splash of color provided by her purple heels takes her look from safe to trendsetting.

My fabulous weekend in Sun City

I was very blessed and fortunate enough to spent this past weekend at Sun City.
For those of you that does not know, the 1st & 2nd weekend in October belongs to Huisgenoot's Skouspel.
Skouspel has become one of the highlights on the Afrikaans Music Calendar.

Emma and I waited for Michelle after Friday night's rehearsal and immediately made friends with the likes of Dozi, Theuns Jordaan, Bok van Blerk and the very famous Kurt Darren.
I was very suprized at how friendly and down to earth all of them were!
Emma and I had a blast partying with them on Friday night and had a slight headache Saturday morning.
It was just as well that we spent most of our day in the sun Saturday.
Check out some of my pictures on Facebook to see how the weekend went!

Eva Mendes in Clavin Klein

This recent commercial for Calvin Klein's Secret Obsession has been banned by all TV network stations because they feel Eva Mendes is too sexy in the ad.

My favorite advert

Chanel has replaced Kate Moss in its ads for its Coco Mademoiselle fragrance with Pride & Prejudice star Keira Knightley.

The 21-year-old actress will appear as the new face of Chanel starting next year, the company announced. (This summer she will appear with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest).

Moss's contract expired last October, ending the 32-year-old British supermodel's role with Coco Mademoiselle that had begun in 2002. Last year, Moss lost several high-profile modeling contracts – including those with Burberry and H&M – after a London tabloid published pictures of her allegedly using cocaine in a music studio.

Other previous faces of Chanel have included French star Catherine Deneuve and Nicole Kidman, who represented Chanel No. 5.

"Keira Knightley is a bright, young actress who has already made her mark in a diverse portfolio of films, including her Oscar-nominated performance in Pride & Prejudice, said Chanel artistic director Jacques Helleu in a statement.

Knightley said in a statement that she's "really proud to have been asked to work with such an iconic house as Chanel, and thrilled to follow the extraordinary women who have been associated with it before."

Why is it that only whites can be racists?

Michael Richards better known as Kramer from TV’s Seinfeld

This was his defense speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act.

He makes some very interesting points.

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans,
Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You Call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,'
'Whitey,' 'Caveman' .... and that's OK.

But when I call you, N!gger, Kike, Towel head,
Sand-n!gger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ..
You call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you,
so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah.
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) we'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month , we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance'
OUR lives we'd be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber
of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that?

A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American
pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students
scholarships you know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges
in the US . Yet if there were 'White colleges' THAT
would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were
marching for your race and rights. If we marched for
our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and
you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce
our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a
white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats
up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a
threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am proud.
But you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists?

Picture of the Day - 5 September 2008

Have South Africa REALLY changed?

I am proudly South African and i am proud to say it.
We are living in a diverse country with democratic rights.
14 years down the line we could almost believe that the times of apartheid / discrimination have long past, but sometimes I do wonder.
Taking with the happenings of the past week regarding the whole “Is FTV Sandton Racism” and that my best friend and colleague just had a smash and grab experience, I have to ask myself where do we draw the line?
I mean, as a person with rights to raise my voice, I guess I have the right to question the following:
When people of color feel their rights have been violated or they have been discriminated at all they are quick to jump and create Facebook groups, write articles to newspapers and start a heavy debate, but when white people are violated or discriminated by people of color, we just have to simply keep quiet.
Where is the sense in all of this? I mean then I really do have to ask myself the question, have we really changed as a democratic country and do we really have equality?

Quote of the day - 5 September 2008

If we do not rise to the challenge of our unique capacity to shape our lives, to seek the kinds of growth that we find individually fulfilling, then we can have no security: we will live in a world of sham, in which our selves are determined by the will of others, in which we will be constantly buffeted and increasingly isolated by the changes round us. -- Nena O'Neil

MAN OF THE YEAR

I can clearly remember it as it was yesterday when i met Ryk Neethling...
November 2004, a couple of days after he won the ultimate prize - Gold and a World Record performance in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.
Through the years i have seen Ryk breaking a couple of world records, develop as a person, signing up incredible sponsorship and endorsement deals, face and deal with person traumas - especially when it comes to his sister's illness and live a very disciplined life.
I have never met a person that has shown so much dedication to something he loves and believe in.
I have personally learned amazing life lessons from one of SA's (if not the world's)most sexiest men.
Ryk has taught me that i should never settle for less than anything i deserve. He has shown me how i deserve to be treated as a woman.
Ryk has also taught me that with discipline, hard work and outstanding dedication, you can make any dream of yours come true.
The past year especially i think this amazing man has shown dedication, strong will and the fact that faith produces unbelievable results.
Now, with him standing at another cross point of his life, i would like to salute you my friend and wish you only the best and know that you will make a success of yet another faze of your life!

Some good advice from Stephen Friedman

So having an hour conversation with Mr. Friedman... below were the only words spoken.
Not sure that this has anything to do with the fact that he is a little ocean boy and get as deep as the deepest part of the ocean.... but i guess it was meaningful and educational ......Enjoy

yesterday is history...tomorrow is a mystery...today is a gift

think outside the box...because thats when impossible becomes possible

The best things in life aren’t things.
Never judge the day by the weather.
Speak softly but wear a loud shirt.
Tell the truth because there’s less to remember.
Strive for excellence not perfection.
He who dies with the most toys still dies.
Impossible is nothing.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift.
No Rain No Rainbow
I watch the sunrise as often as I can.
I push oneself to the point of excellence, in what ever I do.
The only person that can make me happy is myself.
I go with the flow at the best of times, it’s about enjoying life, why rush...
Meet new people and hear there stories.
Take pictures, because each photo becomes a memory that doesn't get forgotten.
Life is about choices, you get to make

Listen to music; it’s the language of our sole

Day dream, that’s where you can set your mind free
