The day my world changed

Have to say "thanks" again to Tahlecia for making me watch this newly release human-vampire drama, Twilight.

Personally, I never enjoyed fictional movies/series about vampires.
From Blade to Underworld, Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Angel.

But I was told that for Twilight, the vampires are very different from the regular vampires. It's like a combined feature of vampires from other movies with a little personal touch added.

However, I have to say that the love drama in this movie is good. Almost 70% of the movie is about the love story of Bella and Edward, bringing romance into a level unachievable by humans.

But the thing that changed my life is the chemistry in this movie.
I have always believed in chemistry and I know when it happens, it is a force no one can stop.
So, to watch a movie (even when it is about vampires) that expresses the feeling I have had for so many years in me - well that completely changed my life.

So thank you Stephanie for doing an unbelievable job in writing the Twilight Sagas!

Let Me Sign

She was standing there by the broken tree
Her hands were all twisted she was pointing at me
I was damned by the light coming out of her eyes
She spoke with a voice that disrupted the sky
She said walk on over into bitter shade,
I will wrap you in my arms and you'll know you've been saved'
Let me sign, let me sign, can't fight the devil so just let me sign.

I was out for a drink in a soho bar
The air was smoked out liked a cheap cigar
She rose out of her seat like a painted ghost
She was the woman that I wanted the most
As she reached for my arm I gave her my hand
I said 'Lay me down easy let me understand'
Let me sign, let sign, can't fight the devil so just let me sign.

As I walked through the door she was still in my head
As I entered the room she was laid there in bed
She reached out for me all twisted in black
I was on my way down, never coming back
Let me sign, let me sign, can't fight the devil so just let me sign.
Let me sign, let me sign, can't fight the devil so just let me sign.

The Saturday Night Surgery Vol 5 Tour with DJ Roger Goode

How do you describe someone whose sole existence is for music

Under a dictionary definition you would find the words: Roger Goode

By now you should know that Roger Goode is a South African DJ who rose to local fame for his first single "In The Beginning", which featured on 5FM's Top 40, which later led to him being signed up with a local dance record label, SheerDance, under which he released his first album, Coming Up for Air.

He then went on to be nominated & won awards such as: 'Best Producer Award' @ the E-event Underground Dance Music Awards (The Gurnies) and 'Best Album' & 'Best New Dance Single' at the SAMA's.

In November 2009, Roger Goode returned with the 5th release of his very successful
Saturday Night Surgery albums – Saturday Night Surgery Vol 5: Party Karate.

With this latest addition to The Saturday Surgery series, Roger takes a more experimental approach of various sounds which signal the experience he has acquired over the years as both a club and radio jock.
This latest album incorporates most, if not all facets of house music. Be it lounge, techno, deep, vocal, tribal or electro, this album has a bit of everything which might relate to listeners of 5FM, the radio hub Roger sanctifies with his mix-mastery every Saturday night.

During his album tour, Goode also introduced a new addition to his brand:
The Roger Goode DoJo Girls.

Roger Goode & 5FM launched the fifth Saturday Surgery album – Party Karate Style! A nationwide search was done by 5fm searching for the perfect entourage to accompany him during his entire Saturday Surgery Vol5 Album Tour.
Out of hundreds of entries, 4 girls were chosen to be the Roger Goode DoJo girls:
Jade Hill, Kylie Costopoulos, Tahlecia Albertze and myself!

It was an unbelievable experience. It is true what they say, music is the soundtrack to your life and I believe in music the same way some people believe in fairy tales.

Thank you Roger for waking up the passion of music in me.
5fm for sponsoring this unbelievable 5 week tour and BlackBerry for our brand new BlackBerry 8900!

Something Inside You

When the one thing you're looking for
Is nowhere to be found
And you back stepping all of your moves
Trying to figure it out
You wanna reach out
You wanna give in
Your head's wrapped around what's around the next bend
You wish you could find something warm
'Cause you're shivering cold
It's the first thing you see as you open your eyes
The last thing you say as your saying goodbye
Something inside you is crying and driving you on
It's the first thing you see as you open your eyes
The last thing you say as your saying goodbye
Something inside you is crying and driving you on

'Cause if you hadn't found me
I would have found you
I would have found you

So long you've been running in circles
'Round what's at stake
But now the times come for your feet to stand still in one place
You wanna reach out
You wanna give in
Your head's wrapped around what's around the next bend
You wish you could find something warm
'Cause you're shivering cold
It's the first thing you see as you open your eyes
The last thing you say as your saying goodbye
Something inside you is crying and driving you on
It's the first thing you see as you open your eyes
The last thing you say as your saying goodbye
Something inside you is crying and driving you on

'Cause if you hadn't found me
I would have found you
I would have found you

It was your first taste of love
Living upon what you had

It's the first thing you see when you open your eyes
The last thing you say as your saying goodbye
Something inside you is crying and driving you on

Do we really want to grow up?

There comes a point in your life, when you’re officially an adult.
Suddenly, you’re old enough to vote, drink and engage in other adult activities. Suddenly, people expect you to be responsible, serious, a grown-up.
We get taller, we get older.
But do we ever really grow up?
In some ways we grow up; we have families... we get married, divorced... but for the most part we still have the same problems that we did when we were fifteen.
No matter how much we grow taller, grow older, we are still forever stumbling... forever wondering, forever... young.

Chemistry

In human chemistry only one thing matters: either you've got it or you don't

It’s okay to let down your guard.

Deep down, everyone wants to believe they can be hardcore.
But being hardcore isn’t just about being tough.
’s about acceptance.
Sometimes you have to give yourself permission to not be hardcore for once.
You don’t have to be tough every minute of every day.
It’s okay to let down your guard.
In fact there are moments when it’s the best thing you can possibly do… as long as you choose your moments wisely.

Forgive and Forget

Forgive and forget.
That’s what they say. It’s good advice, but it’s not very practical.
When someone hurts us, we want to hurt them back.
When someone wrongs us, we want to be right.
Without forgiveness, old scores are never settled… old wounds never heal.
And the most we can hope for, is that one day we’ll be lucky enough to forget.

Love Addiction

It's shocking how many kinds of addiction exist.
It would be too easy if it were just drugs and booze and cigarettes.
I think the hardest part of kicking a habit is wanting to kick it.
I mean, we get addicted for a reason, right?
Often, too often, things that start out as just a normal part of your life at some point cross the line to obsessive, compulsive, out of control.
It's the high we're chasing, the high that makes everything else fade away.
Still, they say you don’t kick the habit until you hit rock bottom, but how do you know when you’re there? Because no matter how badly a thing is hurting us, sometimes letting it go hurts even worse.

Cameron's New Groove - V Magazine Interview

Ten years ago she stole hearts and lit up the silver screen with a slew of roles as the blonde and beautiful good-time girl, but even Cameron Diaz herself knew she’d have to hit reboot before conquering Hollywood again. Now she’s back with 2 challenging new roles that might just change the course of her career

Motherhood is a funny subject for Cameron Diaz. “I don’t declare either way if I’m going to have children,” she says one spring afternoon at the Chateau Marmont. “I don’t know what will happen,” she adds, with a laugh, “And I’m totally fine with that.”

Up close, Diaz’s blue eyes seem too bright and light to be anything but color contacts, and her smile, full of shiny white teeth, would give the Joker serious competition for width. All that, combined with her extra long, skinny limbs, makes her look slightly as if her Shrek character got stuck in a medieval stretching machine—but in the best way possible.

At 36, Diaz may not be rushing into actual motherhood, but Hollywood has already cast her in it. In her latest film, a drama called My Sister’s Keeper, she plays a mother for the first time. Indeed, it’s a departure from the romantic comedy parts that made her one of the world’s most bankable movie stars.

“It’s not like doing this movie made me think I’m not loving something as much as I can,” says Diaz, insisting that playing a mother didn’t make her feel any closer to wanting to become one any time soon.

In the film, an adaptation of a Jodi Picoult best-selling novel, Diaz plays Sara Fitzgerald, the devoted mother of a teenage girl dying of cancer. Her younger daughter, played by Abigail Breslin, was genetically engineered to be a perfect donor match(everything from stem cells to a kidney) to the sick girl, but has decided to become medically emancipated from her parents, with the help of a showboat lawyer played by Alec Baldwin. Diaz’s character is fiercely focused—arguably obsessed—with saving her daughter, even at the risk of ruining her marriage (to a man played by Jason Patric) and her relationship with her other kids. Heavy stuff—particularly for an actress best known for dancing and laughing her way across the big screen in blockbusters like There’s Something About Mary and Charlie’s Angels.

“I took over that warrior mentality,” Diaz says about her role, which she researched by interviewing mothers of sick children. “I don’t judge her. I don’t know what it’s like to be a mother who has a child who is dying of cancer. How do you say, ‘you’re trying to save your daughter a little too hard?’” Diaz did her best to keep her own life—particularly her devotion to her close-knit Californian family, including her young nieces and nephews—separate from the haunting role. “You try not to impose it on the people you love,” she says about the character’s circumstances. “That’s when it gets scary. You don’t even go there.”

Director Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook) was impressed with the range and determination that Diaz brought to the tough role. “I don’t know why other people don’t use her in dramatic roles,” he says, via cell phone, driving in his convertible through Los Angeles. “She jumped into a part that requires great emotional capacity and the ability to be sympathetic and not be pretty.”

Her costar, Sofia Vassilieva, who plays the dying daughter, felt nurtured by Diaz both on and off screen. “Cameron took care of me, fed me Holy Moly Guacamole, held me when I needed to cry, and always made sure I was okay,” says Vassilieva, who had to shave her head for the role. In the movie, Diaz also shaves her head—but it was really just a bald cap she wore over her hair during that day of shooting. “She provided this incredible sense of safety and security,” adds Vassilieva.

Twirling her hair, Diaz dismisses any notion that she took the role with Oscar hopes, insisting she signed on because she wanted to work with Cassavetes, an old friend. Plus, she wants to move forward in her career by taking challenging roles, rather than trying to direct, produce, or write. This fall, she will also star in The Box, a horror film directed by Donnie Darko’s Richard Kelly.

“I don’t make movies for my ego. I do them for my personal growth and to give something to an audience,” says Diaz. “I’m not going to be the 23-year-old ingénue again. If I tried to hold on to that, I’d be a pretty unhappy individual.”

Maybe everyone should do a drama about death. It certainly seems to have put Diaz in a good mood. Or maybe she’s always like that. What does the woman who has to workout to not get too skinny have to worry about? Sure it’s a bummer that she feels like she can’t shop or dine out in Los Angeles without getting hassled by the paparazzi, but she tends to bring the party back to her own home, which she’s renovating.

“It’s going to be such a girl palace for me and my girlfriends to hang out in,” she says, implying that she’s single, though she won’t say for sure. (Previous boyfriends include Justin Timberlake and Jared Leto). “It’s going to be dope!”
She had just cleaned out her closet, offering her castoffs to women’s shelters, and has held on to some scores she found buried in her own stuff. Such could be considered recession shopping if Diaz, who’s always at the top of the Forbes lists, had been affected by the economic crash. (She hasn’t). “I have all these badass pants and coats from ten years ago,” she says, mentioning a pair of Viktor & Rolf trousers. “I really want to go back to more vintage-y stuff. Not kitschy vintage, but some amazing couture from ten or twenty years ago.”

Even though she rarely shops anymore, besides a splurge at Bergdorf’s in New York last year, her closets are so full that she’s turning one of her bedrooms into a boudoir, where she can properly primp for events. Her reigning favorite red carpet outfit is the borrowed pink Christian Dior gown she wore to this year’s Oscars.

When it comes to spending her hard-earned cash on herself, Diaz likes to take her friends on trips and build up her art collection. She recently bought two photographs by Massimo Vitali and often fantasizes about designing a home in Hawaii. She also supports environmental and educational charities. A new cause that she’s excited about is the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).

“For me, it’s really about empowerment,” she says of her philanthropic choices. “We need to live in a better world where people feel better about themselves.” As for how the public views her personal and professional choices, she doesn’t really give a damn. “I use my own judgment,” she says, sitting up a little straighter. “I don’t care how people see me. I know who I am and what I’m capable of.” Deborah Schoeneman

From a whisper to a scream

In some ways, betrayal is inevitable. W
When we betray each other, the path to recovery is less clear.
We do whatever it takes to rebuild the trust that was lost.
And then there are some wounds, some betrayals... that are so deep, so profound that there is no way to repair what was lost.
And when that happens, there's nothing left to do but wait.

Commitment

There are times when even the best of us have trouble with commitment, and we may be surprised at the commitments we're willing to let slip out of our grasp.
Commitments are complicated.
We may surprise ourselves by the commitments we're willing to make, true commitment, takes effort, and sacrifice.
Which is why sometimes, we have to learn the hard way, to choose our commitments very carefully

Guilt

I think that guilt is one of the most overlooked emotions.
We see guilt as black and white.
If one is guilty then one must have done something wrong.
But like most things in life it isnt that simple.
Emotions are complex and are perceived differently by each individual.

We are left with a choice.
Either let the guilt throw you back into the behavior that got you into trouble in the first place, or learn from the guilt and do your best to move on.

Time

Time waits for no man.
Time heals all wounds.
All any of us can wants, is more time.
Time to stand up.
Time to grow up.
Time to let go

Karma

Karma.
One way or another it will leave us to face ourselves.
We can look our karma in the eye or we can wait for it to sneak up from behind.
But karma will always find us.
Yet no matter how hard we try we can't escape our karma.
I guess we can't really complain about our karma. It's not an affair. It's not unexpected. It just... evens the score.
And even when we're about to do something that we know will tempt karma to bite us in the ass... well, it goes without saying. We do it anyway.

Owner of a lonely heart

Forty years ago, the Beatles asked the world a question.
They wanted to know where all the lonely people came from.
My theory is that sometimes we ignore our own needs so we can meet other people's needs.
We ignore our friends and families so we can make other people happy.
Which means that, at the end of the day, all we really have is ourselves.
And nothing in this world can make you feel more alone than that.

Four hundred years ago, another English guy had an opinion on being alone. John Donne. He thought we were never alone.
Of course it was fancier when he said it. No man is an island entire onto himself.
Boil down that island talk and he just means that all anyone needs is someone to step in and let us know we're not alone.
out.

Fate

When fate comes into play, choice sometimes goes out the window.
Maybe Romeo and Juliet were fated to be together, but just for a while, and then their time passed.
If they could have known that beforehand, maybe it all would have been okay. I told Even now, I believe that for the most part, love is about choices.
It's about putting down the poison and the dagger and making your own happy ending... most of the time.
And sometimes, despite all your best intentions, fate wins anyway.

Responsibility - it really does suck

Responsibility.
It really does suck.
Unfortunately, once you get past the age of braces and training bras, responsibility doesn't go away. It can't be avoided.
Either someone makes us face it or we suffer the consequences.
And still adulthood has it perks.
I mean the shoes, the sex, the no parents anywhere telling you what to do.
That's, pretty damn good.
Remember when you were a kid and your biggest worry was, like, if you'd get a bike for your birthday or if you'd get to eat cookies for breakfast. Being an adult? Totally overrated. I mean seriously, don't be fooled by all the hot shoes and the great sex and the no parents anywhere telling you what to do. Adulthood is responsibility.
Responsibility, it really does suck. Really, really sucks.
Adults have to be places and do things and earn a living and pay the rent.
Kind of makes bikes and cookies look really, really good, doesn't it?
The scariest part about responsibility?
When you screw up and let it slip right through your fingers.
I guess we're adults. The question is, when did that happen, and how do we make it stop?

Intimacy is a four letter word

Intimacy is a four syllable word for: Here is my heart and soul, please grind into hamburger, and enjoy.
It's both desired, and feared.
Difficult to live with, and impossible to live without.
Intimacy also comes attached to the three R's... relatives, romance, and roommates. There are some things you can't escape.
And other things you just don't want to know

The Game of Life

I can't think of a single reason why I should be doing what i am doing right now, but I can think of a thousand reasons why I should quit. Sometimes they make it hard on purpose... However, there comes a moment when it's more than just a game, and you either take that step forward or turn around and walk away. I could quit but here's the thing, I love the playing field.

Tell me you also cried....

The most beautiful wedding vows....

Today is the day my life begins. All my life, I've been just me, just a smart-mouthed kid. Today I become a man. Today I become a husband. Today I become accountable to someone other than myself. Today I become accountable to you, to our future, to all possibilities that our marriage has to offer. Together, no matter what happens, I'll be ready. For anything. For everything. To take on life. To take on love. To take on possibility and responsibility. Today, Izzie Stevens, our life together begins. And I for one, can't wait.

Betrayal

BETRAY

Definition of betray: Betrayal is the breaking or violation of a presumptive social contract, trust, or confidence that produces moral and psychological conflict within a relationship amongst individuals.

It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

We often look for someone that we can trust more than we can trust ourselves.
Perhaps this is because we know how often we betray ourselves.
I lately realized again that the people in my life who are the most trustworthy are those who tell the truth, even when the truth is hard.

When the trust that is important to us is broken, we feel hurt and angry.
If the trust is broken but we or the other person pretend that it has not been violated, we learn to distrust ourselves or party involved when the truth is revealed.

However, the real damage of betrayal is in the lies we tell one another and ourselves, the lies that cause us to lose faith in our ability to recognize and act on the truth.

However, in some ways, betrayal is inevitable. When we betray each other, the path to recovery is less clear. We do whatever it takes to rebuild the trust that was lost. And then there are some wounds, some betrayals... that are so deep, so profound that there is no way to repair what was lost. And when that happens, there's nothing left to do but wait.

These are the choices we make, consciously or unconsciously and yet ultimately, if we can be still enough with what is, we can find the place of choiceless awareness.

I want to know, can you do this?
Can you make the choice without putting yourself or the other person – out of your heart?

I need to make this decision. I need to take the leap of faith and put these people out of my heart for good – even when it hurts.
This pain – I just have to ride it out, hope it goes away on its own, hope the wound that caused it heals. There are no solutions, no easy answers, I just breathe deep and wait for it to subside.

Sometimes reality has a way of sneaking up and biting us in the ass. And when the dam bursts, all you can do is swim. The world of pretend is a cage, not a cocoon. We can only lie to ourselves for so long.

I am tired; I am scared, denying it doesn't change the truth. Sooner or later I have to put aside my denial and face the world.
At the end of the day, there are some things I just can't help but talk about.
Some things I just don't want to hear and some things I say because I can't be silent any longer.

So this is it. My heart is broken by the betrayal and I need to make the choice in moving on and forget about it.

Halo - Beyonce

Remember those walls I built
Well baby they're tumbling down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make a sound
I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I got my angel now

It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
It's the risk that I'm takin'
I ain't never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
Woah...

Hit me like a ray of sun
Burning through my darkest night
You're the only one that I want
Think I'm addicted to your light
I swore I'd never fall again
But this don't even feel like falling
Gravity can't forget
To pull me back to the ground again

It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
The risk that I'm takin'
I'm never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

You know you're my saving grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

SONGFACT:

This song, which describes a love that is so phenomenal that it is heavenly, was written by Ryan Tedder, who previously wrote "Bleeding Love." The tune was originally earmarked for "Bleeding Love" singer Leona Lewis. However the British singer was unable to find the time to record the song so it was passed to Beyoncé, a decision that reportedly left her mentor Simon Cowell fuming.

Fix You - Coldplay

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

MEANING OF THIS SONG:

This song deals with true love, helping someone in your time of need, and learning from your mistakes. Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin hasn't spoken about the specific inspiration for the song, but it could be directed to his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, who was dealing with the death of her father in 2002. In USA Today, Martin did say where the song started: "My father-in-law Bruce Paltrow bought this big keyboard just before he died. No one had ever plugged it in. I plugged it in, and there was this incredible sound I'd never heard before. All these songs poured out from this one sound. Something has to inspire you, and something else takes over. It's very cloudy."

Grey's Anatomy the Proposal Derek and Meredith from Elevator Love Letters

Richard makes Meredith wait for the elevator and when the doors open, she sees why: A clean-shaven Derek is inside and the elevator is decorated with scans of all the surgeries they did together. He recounts the stages of their relationships as they played out during each case. Lastly, he shows her the post-op scan of Izzie's brain. "You got me into the OR," he tells her. "You put the rest of us to work because you've seen worse. You know we'll survive. You say you're dark and twisty, but that's not a weakness, it's a strength. It makes you who you are. I love you Meredith Grey, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

"And I want to spend the rest of my life with you," she says, and they kiss.

Sasha's F1 GP update - 24 May 2009

The Jenni Button show continued through the streets of Monaco yesterday. Brawn Gp’s Button scored his 5th victory out of 6 races this season with an emphatic and disciplined drive through the narrow streets of the principality. His teammate Rubens Barrichello finished second to score the teams 3rd one two this season. Déjà Vu back to 2004 when Ferrari had a similar run. I think Brawn could well re-write the history books this season. They are so strong, so reliable and their drivers know how to do the job. It is immense.

The expected challenge from Red Bull Racing failed to materialise and the best of the rest was actually Ferrari who scored their best result this season. Kimi finished 3rd and Massa fourth for a much needed boost for the Italian marque.

World Champion Lewis Hamilton had a nightmare weekend when he crashed during Qualifying and had to start at the back of the field. Despite a light fuel load, Hamilton could not do anything around the streets of Monaco and also tapped Nick Heidfeld’s BMW during the race. It is the second race in a row that the leading car has lapped the World Champion. Talk is that Lewis is looking for a PR guru to boost his wailing image.

The rest of the point scorers were Red Bull’s Mark Webber, William’s Nico Rosberg, Renault’s Fernando Alonso and a much needed boost for the under pressure Sebastien Bourdais for Toro Rosso.

Although the Monaco GP can be processional due to the nature of the circuit, it still is the most important race on the calendar and the one race that every driver wants to win. Jenson Button is a winner in Monaco now and the title must surely be within his grasp. Just to give you an idea of the Brawn Gp’s performance and reliability. This race saw Jenson Button use the same Mercedes engine for the third race in a row without any problems at all. The drivers are limited to 8 engines for the season. Brawn are only on their 2nd engine. BMW in contrast have used 5 engines already for Robert Kubica.

This week is crunch time for the teams and the FIa to iron out their differences. Late last night, FOTA sent a letter to the FIA’s Max Moseley requesting that next year's regulations be scrapped if the teams are to commit their future to the sport. It is a complicated situation but I am confident that a compromise will be found..perhaps not by the end of this week though.

So, F1 continues and in two weeks the teams will race in Istanbul around one of the most exciting new circuits on the calendar. Can anyone even challenge the Brawn’s let alone beat them... I doubt it but they will give it their all in effort.

Beauty

Beauty is a summation of the parts working together in such a way that nothing is needed to be added, taken away or altered

The Planets Bend Between Us

The winters mar the earth
It's floor was frozen glass
You slip into my arms
And you quickly correct yourself
Your freezing speech bubbles
Seem to hold your words aloft
I want the smoky clouds of laughter
To swim about me forever more

I will race you to the waterside
And from the edge of ireland shout out loud
So they could hear it in america
It's all for you

The shells crack under our shoes
Like punctuation points
The planets bend between us
A hundred million suns and stars
The sea filled in this silence
Before you sank those words
And now even in the darkness
I can see how happy you are

I will race you to the waterside
And from the edge of ireland shout out loud
So they could hear it in a america
It's all for you

Character

Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are, to some extent, a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it, piece by piece -- by thought, choice, courage, and determination.

Sasha's F1 GP update - 10 May 2009

I love F1 because people can be so fickle. Let me explain. As recently as 5 years ago if Ferrari won 4 out of 5 races the world criticised the sport, the FIa, the rules, the Pope, the whoever they could.... now 5 years on another teams has won 4 out of the first 5 and the world is quiet..Isn’t it peculiar?

What a turn around this season has become. Nowhere can you find names like Ferrari, Renault, Toyota, and McLaren competing for wins in the most prestigious of motorsports. It’s about Brawn GP and Red bull racing. Who, what....and I think it is not bad for the sport however there must a load of people who listen to their sports reports on Mondays and wonder who and what these teams are. We are like that; we like to identify with something. If you say Toyota you can understand what it is but if you say Brawn it doesn’t really mean much unless you have an interest in the sport. Just a reference point, Brawn GP has 68 points, McLaren 13 and Ferrari 6th. Ferrari has won 9 out of the 10 past Constructors titles

Yesterday’s Spanish GP saw Ross Brawn weave his magic and change strategies to allow Jenson to leapfrog his teammate and score more points in a bid to claim the title. Ross Brawn knows what it takes to win and he will guide his team that way until he feels no one can catch them. Rubens Barrichello will not take it lying down but he will create problems if he doesn’t toe the line; however he has to be quicker than Jenson which won’t be easy. The one great thing for Jenson Button is his consistency. He has not made one mistake and is driving well within himself. I don’t even think that Brawn have shown their full potential as yet.

Having said all that, Brawn GP are completely dominating F1. RBR may be the next best team but they are going to have win at least another 3 races to even get close to being on an even keel with Brawn.

There were some surprises and some disappointments this weekend. Toyota and McLaren were disappointing but the encouraging thing for the tifosi was that Ferrari seem to have made a major step forward but they need to solve their reliability problems and they need more petrol....

So, all bets off. Button will be WC. A bit disappointing to have to announce it after only 5 races but it seems that way. I wonder how man of Schumacher’s records he will break as well

My new Snow Patrol favorite

Two weeks later like a surplus reprieve
I found a hair the length of yours on my sleeve
I wound it round and round my finger so tight
It turned purple and a pulse formed inside

And i knew the beat 'cause it matched your own beat
I still remember it from our chest to chest and feet to feet
The easy silence then was a sweet relief to this hush
Of ovens, aeroplanes and of distant car horns

A fire a fire, you can only take what you can carry
A pulse your pulse, it's the only thing i can remember
I break you don't, i was always set to self-destruct though
The fire the fire, it cracks and barks like primal music

I said i knew the beat 'cause it matched your own beat
Find more lyrics at www.kovideo.net
It's become my engine my own source of heat
The sea between us only amplifies the sound waves
Every hum and echo and crash paints my cave

A fire a fire, you can only take what you can carry
A pulse your pulse, it's the only thing i can remember
I break you don't, i was always set to self-destruct though
The fire the fire, it cracks and barks like primal music

A fire a fire, you can only take what you can carry
A pulse your pulse, it's the only thing i can remember
I break you don't, i was always set to self-destruct though
The fire the fire, it cracks and barks like primal music

Words and Speech

At the end of the day, there are some things you just can't help but talk about. Some things we just don't want to hear, and some things we say because we can't be silent any longer. Some things are more than what you say, they're what you do. Some things you say cause there's no other choice. Some things you keep to yourself. And not too often, but every now and then, some things simply speak for themselves.

Sasha's F1 GP update - 28 April 2009

Taking nothing away from Jenson Button’s excellent drive and victory in Bahrain, I am still wondering how Toyota as well as Sebastien Vettel lost the race!

I say this because Toyota had the front row locked out and Vettel who was 3rd had the heaviest fuel load after qualifying.

Well, it is this simple. Toyota mucked up badly. They chose the wrong tyres for the middle stint of the race. It is that simple. Note to Toyota: use the quickest tyres for the MAJORITY of the race and not the other way around.

For Vettel it was a little more complicated. He didn’t get the ideal track position after the start and had to play a long waiting game which thwarted his progress.

For the rest it was a pretty ordinary race which should have been a cracker but Toyota messed it up to be honest.

The first “normal” race of the season and without a doubt it must be said that the Brawn GP cars have a significant advantage over the rest of the field. What must worry the rest of the teams is that in two weeks time Brawn will introduce their FIRST updates on their car. I would be concerned if I were the other teams.

The Bahrain GP saw Button extend his lead in the championship and you have to believe that both he and the team are now seriously thinking about this championship. For Barrichello he might already have to fulfil a role he plays so well, that being second.

Button made a crucial pass on Hamilton at the end of the first lap after Hamilton bulleted off the line at the start with the help of KERS. This set him up for the race. The Toyota pair were well in the lead but the wrong strategy saw them fall behind although Trulli finished a great 3rd but it SHOULD have been a win. Trulli also managed his first ever fastest lap of the race.

Vettel was held up behind Lewis Hamilton and his race was marginalised after an average start. Hamilton did his best and showed his class finishing a great 4th. I expect McLaren to strongly improve over the next 2 races however it all depends what kind of penalty they receive on Wed at the WMSC meeting. I predict a slap on the wrists and a little fine. Although nothing is little in F1.

Rubens Barrichello fought back bravely and finished 5th with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen scoring his first points and the first points for Ferrari this season. Ferrari is struggling with everything but it is mainly their Aero package which doesn’t give them enough grip in the corners. This then spills over and ruins their tyres. Perhaps they will improve in Spain but I don’t expect anything too dramatic to be honest.

Glock fought back hard but only managed to finish 7th. Alonso drove hard and nearly fainted after the race. His 8th place and one point is not enough for him or Renault and they too have a mountain to climb.

The disappointment of the race has to be the performance of BMW. What has gone wrong? Even though both drivers had problems early on, watching them during the race showed that their race pace was below what we have come to expect from this team.

One last thing: what race were Jonathan Legard and Martin Brundle watching? The commentary was so off the pace. These guys are meant to keep us informed about how the race is panning out? I was in the studio with Gary and Vic and we were screaming at the TV because the two BBc’ers were getting it completely wrong. Maybe I am just too much of a perfectionist when it comes to F1 but I believe the average F1 punter could have been better informed about what was going on during the race.

I will let you know what happens on Wed with McLaren and of course any other major F1 news.

Bring on Europe and the Spanish GP.

Take care

Ciao Ciao

Some of the best Californication moments

Walking Pile of Ashes

Chemistry

Love is give and take
Control hints forsake
Contemplating velvet anger
Dancing violent femme's grin
Wanting, kissing, her sweat, her skin
Am I still a stranger?
Will you take my passion?
Trust the chemistry, aroma so sweet
Tasting you, taking you
Restrain me; tame me
Feel love's natural heat

Moving words inside-unfolding the present
Animated insults, thirteen reactions
Daydreams and flannel sheets in the nude
Let's get wild and silly lewd.
Then impress your beautiful body with my mind.

All I touch is your silence
Piano resonates that sensual fear
Still I want your melodic cadence
You are so sweet, so sincere.

Verleiding

Waarheen nou?
Waar soek ‘n mens jou siel
as jy laat nag weet
daar is net een ding
wat jou tydelik laat vergeet
En al is dit hoe verkeerd
Die versoeking is tog so groot
Want dit laat jou vir ‘n oomlik
Al is dit net een sekonde tik
Van sy oe vergeet

En jy moet stry
Om sane te bly

Verloor

Die jy van gister
het ek verloor
in die verandering
van jou hart,
tesame met die
hardheid van myne.

Ek verloor jou nou
juis omdat ek die klip
so hard probeer laat blom,
maar tog die krake
probeer verhoed.

Tussen my en jou
le daar 'n afgrond
waarin verloor dryf
en mekaar probeer vind.
